This webinar is motivated by the recently published study on “COVID-19 in the Mediterranean and Africa: Diagnosis, Policy Responses, Preliminary Assessment and Way forward ”.
This study is the result of the collaboration of EMEA and EMNES researchers from across the Euro-Mediterranean and Africa under the coordination of Prof. Rym Ayadi, President of EMEA and Director of EMNES. The contributors of the study are: Samir Ali Abdullah (Palestine), Nooh Alshyab (Jordan), Kwame Barnieh Sarpong (Ghana), Yacine Belarbi (Algeria), Sandra Challita (Lebanon), Kinga Konya (Spain), Najat El Mekkaoui (Morocco), Rim Ben Ayed Mouelhi (Tunisia), Racha Ramadan (Egypt), Sara Ronco (Italy), Serena Sandri (Jordan), Mais Shaban (Jordan) and Chahir Zaki (Egypt). EMEA Advisory Board members, Fathallah Sijilmassi (Morocco) and Roger Albinyana (Spain), also shared their thoughts in the foreword of the study.
The EMEA webinar will discuss the effectiveness and socio-economic impacts of policy measures taken in the Euro-Mediterranean and Africa with a view to advance further in the policy response assessment at three levels: 1) Preparedness and effectiveness of healthcare systems; 2) Completeness and timeliness of COVID-19 containment policies; and 3) Comprehensiveness (and solidarity) of the socio-economic mitigation policies.
