Energy and Environment

Renewable energy is a major priority for the Mediterranean region and Africa, not only in order to tackle climate change by reducing CO2 emissions, but also to ensure the minimum conditions for prosperous development.

Energy is an essential vector for ensuring life, together with water and food . To ensure sustainable and equitable access to these resources, it is necessary to develop infrastructures that enable green solutions. This requires investment and proper mechanisms for deploying renewable energies, water treatment, and waste management systems, from agroforestry to industrial sectors.

EMEA’s green energy transition research initiative aims to develop financial mechanisms for infrastructure deployment and urban planning based on sustainability. It seeks to find efficient, natural-based solutions and management processes that ensure progressive improvement in the use of resources such as energy, food and water.
