The International Workshop on Financial System Architecture and Stability (IWFSAS) provides a forum for academic researchers, practitioners and policy makers to discuss current issues related to the structure and design of financial systems and their impact on macro-financial stability and sustainable economic growth.

The fifth IWFSAS conference offers leading academics, practitioners and policymakers the opportunity to discuss innovative research on a range of topics related to climate risk and sustainable finance.

Given the impact of the pandemic on the world economy and the multiple calls for a “green recovery”, the topic of this year’s conference remains of high importance.

Workshop program

Keynote speaker of the event is Beata Javorcik, Chief Economist, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Professor of Economics, University of Oxford, and Director at CEPR.

This year’s IWFSAS meeting is hosted by the Centre for Banking Research (CBR) of the Business School (formerly Cass), in collaboration with the Gustavson School of Business at the University of Victoria and the Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association (EMEA). It will take place on Thursday 10 and Friday 11 September 2020 on Zoom.
