Prof. Rym Ayadi participates at the event for the 10th anniversary of the EBA as Chair of the Banking Stakeholders Group

The President of EMEA, Prof. Rym Ayadi, Professor at the Bayes Business School, and Chair of the Banking Stakeholders Group (BSG) of the European Banking Authority (EBA), participated at the high-level event for the 10th anniversary of the European Banking Authority. The event took place on Tuesday 26 October 2021 in a hybrid format to allow participants to attend it in Paris or via videoconference.

The conference started with keynote speeches by Mairead McGuinness, European Commissioner for Financial Stability, Financial Services and the Capital Markets Union, and by José Manuel Campa, EBA Chairperson. The speakers discussed the main challenges facing the EU banking system and the achievements of EBA since the Great Financial Crisis.

Prof. Rym Ayadi chairs the EBA’s Banking Stakeholder Group. BSG is composed of 30 members appointed to represent in balanced proportions credit and investment institutions operating in the Union, their employees’ representatives as well as consumers, users of financial services, academics and representatives of SMEs. The EBA consults the BSG on the EBA’s proposals for technical standards, guidelines and recommendations concerning banking regulation.

The European Banking Authority (EBA) is an independent EU Authority which works to ensure effective and consistent prudential regulation and supervision across the European banking sector. Its overall objectives are to maintain financial stability in the EU and to safeguard the integrity, efficiency and orderly functioning of the banking sector.
