On the 25th October 2023, Maria Ruiz de Cossío, Senior Project Manager at the Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association (EMEA) and Coordinator of the CREACT4MED project, attended the European Culture & Creativity Days in Barcelona. The event, organized by Eurecat, the Technology Centre of Catalonia, with EIT (European Institute of Innovation and Technology) Culture & Creativity focused on the interplay between digital culture and digital humanism in the midst of rapid development of technologies such as artificial intelligence, and augmented reality, and its impact on the cultural and creative industries.
At the event, leaders in the creative and cultural industries explored the transformative potential of the creative and cultural sectors in an era of rapid technological advancements. The day featured engaging talks on fostering cross-creativity, the impact of virutal reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), AI technologies, and strategies for fostering Europe’s cultural and creative industries. An enriching day of discussions, networking, and innovative ideas shaping the future of culture and creativity.
The event was a successful opportunity for the CREACT4MED team to connect with the cultural and creative ecosystem in Europe, highlighting the aims of CREACT4MED in boosting inclusive and sustainable creative entrepreneurship in the Southern Mediterranean.
CREACT4MED is a project funded by the European Union (EU) through the EuropeAid Programme, that aims to strengthen businesses and entrepreneurship in the cultural and creative industries (CCIs) in the Southern Neighbourhood of the EU, with a particular focus on young people and women. CREACT4MED is coordinated by the Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association.
