EMEA supports the Women Entrepreneur Awards 2024 in Tunisia

The 9th edition of the Women Entrepreneurs of Tunisia Awards (FET) took place on Friday,01 March 2024, in Tunis. Organized by Managers magazine in collaboration with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom and the delegation of the European Union in Tunisia, this edition saw an additional partnership with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

The event celebrated eight women who distinguished themselves through creativity, resilience, and the impactful projects in their respective fields. Each laureate, in addition to receiving a 7,000-dinar award from sponsor companies, will benefit from a mentorship program provided by the Tunisian Women Entrepreneurs Club.

Dr. Sandra Challita, EMEA Research Fellow and EMANES coordinator, Associate Professor in Finance at Emlyon Business School, represented the Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association (EMEA). Dr. Challita, presented the EMEA award to the Entrepreneur of the Year 2024, Ms. Mbarka Mbarki, founder of Oasissia. As part of this recognition, Ms. Mbarki gains access to an international training program of her choice, offered by EMEA.

Since its initiation in 2015, the Women Entrepreneurs of Tunisia project has been dedicated to recognizing and supporting women entrepreneurs making a positive impact on their economic and social environment, contributing to the sustainable development of the country. Emphasizing inclusion and diversity, the project encourages innovative, original, and environmentally friendly projects, particularly in regional development zones.

The Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association (EMEA) fully supports female and youth entrepreneurship in the region through its entrepreneurship initiative. Women and youth entrepreneurship stand as essential pillars for fostering an inclusive socio-economic model in the Mediterranean and Africa.
