EMEA senior researcher, Yeganeh Forouheshfar participates in workshop on Data-Driven Sustainability in the Mediterranean Blue Economy

Dr. Yeganeh Forouheshfar, senior researcher at EMEA, participated in the Global Advances in the Regional Workshop: Towards Data-Driven Sustainability in the Mediterranean Blue Economy, which was organised by Plan Bleu and UNEP World Conservation Monitoring Centre (WCMC) on 23 November 2023. The meeting took place in Marseille (France) and in a hybrid format.

Dr. Forouheshfar intervened in the first session on “Expanding Indicator Frameworks” This session focused on Blue economy indicators and metrics that transcend traditional economic measures, and which can be used to monitor the interplay between economic activities and their environmental and societal implications. She presented the TRIS framework and Dashboard. She highlighted the necessity to develop indicators to assess the environmental impact of the blue businesses to facilitate their evaluation by the financial sector and promote their access to finance.
