EMEA project manager Joanna Grodzka participates in the 2nd MED Innovation Camp

On May 28, 2024, EMEA project manager Joanna Grodzka attended the 2nd MED Innovation Camp, which was organized by the Innovative Sustainable Economy Mission, supported by the Interreg Euro MED programme.

The session gathered representatives of the Interreg projects and S3 (Smart specialisation strategies) practitioners from Mediterranean countries collaborating to address the challenge of depopulation in rural and remote areas. They identified the reasons for depopulation, analyzed the barriers to change from an ecosystemic perspective, and envisioned a future where these areas are stronger, more prosperous, and resilient.

EMEA is a partner in the Community4 Living Areas project, which is part of the Promoting Green Living Areas Mission, one of four Interreg Euro MED Missions.  The Mission aims to improve the lives of Mediterranean citizens by promoting the development of green living areas. It undertakes projects that bring local communities to life with green development at their epicentre, reducing negative climate impacts on the region’s ecosystems, and enhancing climate resilience
