EMEA President Prof. Rym Ayadi participates in discussion about the political crisis and economic reform prospects in Tunisia

The President of EMEA, Prof. Rym Ayadi, participated in the discussion “Political Crisis and Economic Reform Prospects in Tunisia after July 25” organised by the Malcolm H. Kerr Carnegie Middle East Center, on 30 November 2021. The panel included Amr Adly, Assistant Professor, The American University in Cairo, Ishac Diwan, Professor of Economics at Paris Sciences et Lettres, and Jérôme Vacher, IMF Resident Representative in Tunisia.

The discussion was moderated by Hamza Meddeb, Non-Resident scholar, Carnegie MEC.

The participants discussed if the current political crisis could threaten the prospects of economic recovery of Tunisia, if the new government will be able to address the fiscal crisis and elaborate policies that could address people needs and expectations, and how can Tunisia create a new economic model that would put social justice at its core.
