EMEA joins the partnership of the Interreg Med Renewable Energy Project.

EMEA is becoming part of the Interreg Med Renewable Energy Project. One of the 8 MED Horizontal Projects of the Interreg Med Programme. The first phase of the project has been successfully implemented from 2016 to 2019 and in November 2019, began its second phase which will finalize in June 2022. The capitalisation strategy of the project is set through the Ecosystemic Transition Unit (ETU initiative) a governance model for energy transition in rural and islands areas in the Mediterranean Region. The project foresees three strategic transferring regions of the Mediterranean: Western, Adriatic and Eastern. The main objective of the project is to drive an effective capitalisation of ETU initiative (toolbox and model) following the principles established by Interreg Med Programme:
– Ensure Renewable Energy Community’s tools transferring to local authorities.
– Boost strategic liaising between key stakeholders to achieve the implementation of multilevel coordination experiences.
– Mainstreaming of the ETU initiative in energy transition policies and territorial planning.

EMEA will coordinate the advocacy and policy mainstreaming actions will enhance knowledge transfer and synergies on climate change, energy transition, sustainability and green economy.
The partnership is composed by 6 partners leaded by Scientific Research Centre Bistra Ptuj from Slovenia, Environment Park from Italy, North-West Croatia Regional Energy Agency from Croatia, Aegean Energy and Environment Agency from Greece, Arco Latino from Spain and for now on also EMEA. The partnership counts with a wide network of Associated Partners that jointly will support the capitalisation strategy through transferring and mainstreaming actions.
