EMEA hosts and co-organises INVESTMED Regional Mid-term Event

On the 10th and 11th July, the INVESTMED project will hold its second regional event, this time taking place in Barcelona in the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau. The event is co-organised by the Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association and the European Institute of the Mediterranean.

INVESTMED is a project funded by the EU through the ENI CBC Med programme, designed to address both the economic and environmental challenges facing Micro, Small and Medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the Mediterranean. The project aims to support MSMEs in improving their competitiveness, sustainability, internationalisation, capacity to innovate, and to create sustainable growth and economic development. In 2022, INVESTMED launched a call for sub-grants to provide support for new, sustainable business opportunities for young people and women in three countries: Egypt, Lebanon, and Tunisia, in three economic sectors: green economy, blue economy, and the cultural and creative industries.

At the second regional event, the MSMEs and Business Support Organisations (BSOs) selected under the project’s call for subgrants launched in 2022, will gather to network, learn about best practices in the region, and discuss policy options for generating an enabling environment for entrepreneurs.
