Kwame Sarpong Barnieh, Partner KPMG, Ghana, and member of the Executive Board of EMEA was one of the speakers of the 3i Africa Summit “Unleashing Africa’s FinTech and Digital Economic Potential”, which took place in Accra, Ghana on 13-15 May 2024. The event was organised by the Bank of Ghana (BoG) and the Development Bank Ghana (DBG), in partnership with Elevandi, set up by the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
Kwame participate at the panel “Closing the Loop: Circular Economy Strategies for a Zero-Waste Future”. In his intervention he underlined that “the circular economy is a critical component of the ESG trajectory. There must be an international focus on minimal use, reuse and recycle of materials.”
The panel included Dr. Natalie Beinisch, Co-Founder at Circular Economy Innovation, Benjamin Attigah, Project Manager for REEEPublic, GIZ Ghana, Dr Abena Antwi, CEO Africa Environmental Sanitation (AfES) Consult, and it was moderated by Brent Barnet, Non-Executive Director, ETK Group.
The 3i Africa Summit was designed as a platform for governments, businesses, regulators, academics, innovators and thought leaders, by harnessing the potential of FinTech, to discuss and collaborate on measures to unlock Africa’s full potential.
