EMEA and the Başkent University Creative Cultural Industries Research Center sign MoU

The Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association – EMEA, represented by its Founder and President, Prof. Rym Ayadi, and Başkent University Creative Cultural Industries Research Center (YAKEM), represented by its Acting President, Prof. Dr. I. Haldun Müderrisoğlu, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the purpose to enhance collaboration on the Euro-Mediterranean and Africa ecosystems, enhance expert knowledge in the regions and support transparent inclusive social and economic development with a particular emphasis on expertise, sharing of knowledge, co-funding and dissemination to support a transformation towards a transparent sustainable transition in the Mediterranean and Africa.

In this sense, the Parties will cooperate where and when feasible and appropriate, aiming at maximizing bilateral and multilateral Euro-Mediterranean and Euro-African cooperation from a global and sustainable perspective.

The Başkent University Creative Cultural Industries Research Center (YAKEM) is a research center on behalf of Başkent University in Turkiye since 2016. YAKEM specialized in Creative Industries, Cultural Industries, Creative Economy, Cultural Management in the context of creative economy, diversity of cultural expressions and the working life of artists and cultural producers. YAKEM aims to contribute to the development of the Creative Industries, also in Mediterranean and African regions, which is an important source of prosperity and employment for developing countries.

The Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association – EMEA is a Barcelona-based regional think-tank that serves as a leading independent and innovative policy research institution; a forum for debate on the political and socio-economic reforms in Mediterranean and Africa; and promoter of actions and initiatives that fulfil objectives of sustainability, inclusiveness, regional integration and prosperity.
