EMEA and PEP sign MoU to enhance collaboration on the Euro-Mediterranean and Africa ecosystems

The Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association (EMEA), represented by its Founder and President, Prof. Rym Ayadi, and the Partnership for Economic Policy (PEP), represented by its Executive Director, Prof. Jane Mariara, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the purpose to enhance collaboration on the Euro-Mediterranean and Africa ecosystems.  The two organizations will cooperate in order to enhance expert knowledge in the regions and support transparent inclusive social and economic development with a particular emphasis on expertise, sharing of knowledge, co-funding, co-developing projects and initiatives and dissemination to support a transformation towards a transparent sustainable transition in the Mediterranean and Africa. The Partnership for Economic Policy (PEP) has also joined the Euro-Mediterranean Network for Economic Studies (EMNES) as an Associate Member.

Representative of the Partnership for Economic Policy (PEP) to EMEA and EMNES will be Professor Jane Mariara, Executive Director of PEP. Prof. Mariara is a member of Central Bank of Kenya’s Monetary Policy Committee and the German Institute of Global and Area Studies (GIGA) Advisory Board, among others.

The Partnership for Economic Policy (PEP) is a Southern-led global organization dedicated to supporting development in the Global South. PEP does this by providing high-quality, locally-generated evidence that informs better decisions in policy and practice.  To achieve this, PEP:

  • supports the work, strengthens the capacity and promotes the findings of local researchers in developing countries;
  •  facilitates engagement and collaboration between researchers and policymakers;
  • creates a space for learning and knowledge-sharing between researchers throughout the globe.

The Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association (EMEA) is a Barcelona-based regional think-tank that serves as a leading independent and innovative policy research institution; a forum for debate on the political and socio-economic reforms in Mediterranean and Africa; and promoter of actions and initiatives that fulfil objectives of sustainability, inclusiveness, regional integration and prosperity.
