EMEA and Norge Mining Ltd sign MoU

The Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association – EMEA, represented by its Founder and President, Prof. Rym Ayadi, and Norge Mining Ltd, represented by its CEO, John Vergopoulos, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the purpose to enhance collaboration on the Euro-Mediterranean and Africa ecosystems, enhance expert knowledge in the regions and support transparent inclusive social and economic development with a particular emphasis on expertise, sharing of knowledge, co-funding and dissemination to support a transformation towards a transparent sustainable transition in the Mediterranean and Africa.

In this sense, the Parties will cooperate where and when feasible and appropriate, aiming at maximizing bilateral and multilateral Euro-Mediterranean and Euro-African cooperation from a global and sustainable perspective.

Norge Mining Ltd. is an Anglo-Norwegian mineral exploration company, founded in November 2018 and headquartered in London, UK. Its wholly owned Norwegian subsidiary, Norge Mineraler AS holds 61 exploration licenses over world-class deposits of phosphate rock in south-west Norway that contain EU critical raw materials phosphate, vanadium, and titanium. The company also aims to, together with its partners, process yellow phosphorus in a carbon negative way, thus to supply fourth critical raw material from the EU CRM List under the highest ESG standards to the European and global economy. Norge Mining thus aims to become a responsible partner to the industry and a mining company that will contribute to the stability, safety, reliability, and sustainability of critical raw material value chains, within Europe and globally.

The Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association – EMEA is a Barcelona-based regional think-tank that serves as a leading independent and innovative policy research institution; a forum for debate on the political and socio-economic reforms in Mediterranean and Africa; and promoter of actions and initiatives that fulfil objectives of sustainability, inclusiveness, regional integration and prosperity.
