EMEA and CREAF sign MoU to enhance collaboration on the Euro-Mediterranean ecosystems

The Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association – EMEA, represented by its Founder and President, Prof. Rym Ayadi, and the Ecological and Forestry Applications Research Centre – CREAF, represented by its director Joan Pino, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the purpose of enhancing collaboration on the Euro-Mediterranean ecosystems, enhancing expert knowledge in the regions and support transparent inclusive social and economic development with a particular emphasis on expertise, sharing of knowledge, co-funding and dissemination to support a transformation towards a transparent sustainable transition in the Mediterranean.

In this sense, the Parties will cooperate where and when feasible and appropriate, aiming at maximising bilateral and multilateral Euro-Mediterranean cooperation from a global and sustainable perspective.

CREAF is a public research center dedicated to terrestrial ecology and territorial analysis, producing knowledge and methodologies for conservation, management, and adaptation of the environment to global change. The center’s objective is to work as a bridge between academia, administrations, and society, promoting awareness and exchanging knowledge within its scope of activities, at the local, regional, and global levels. Located at the campus of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, the center was founded in 1987 as a consortium between various public administrations, research entities, and academic training entities.

The Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association – EMEA is a Barcelona-based regional think-tank that serves as a leading independent and innovative policy research institution; a forum for debate on the political and socio-economic reforms in Mediterranean and Africa; and promoter of actions and initiatives that fulfil objectives of sustainability, inclusiveness, regional integration and prosperity.
