In this Special Edition Newsletter, the CREACT4MED project is thrilled to present the 24 entrepreneurs receiving financial support under the subgranting programme. For each of the 6 countries, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, and Tunisia, 4 cultural and creative projects were selected after a rigourous written and pitch evaluation. Now, you can read their profiles, their expected impact, and what they have gained from the CREACT4MED project so far.
According to the work plans, a total of 131 new job opportunities for young people and women (37 work contracts and 94 freelance contracts) are expected to be created through the implementation of their projects. Over half of the companies are led by women and young people.
We would like to thank all entrepreneurs who applied to the call, and we look forward to seeing all business proposals thrive to contribute to a flourishing CCI ecosystem in the Southern Mediterranean.
CREACT4MED is a project funded by the EU through the EuropeAid Programme, and seeks to strengthen CCI ecosystems in the MENA region and unleash the full potential of CCI to create empowered and flourishing societies. It aims to support entrepreneurs, start-ups and SMEs, create jobs, and foster sustainable economic growth in the Southern Mediterranean, with a particular focus on young people and women. It is coordinated by the Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association (EMEA), with the partners Institute of Entrepreneurship Development (iED), European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed), Union of Mediterranean Confederations of Enterprises (BUSINESSMED), and Redstart Tunisie.
