The conference “Prevention on Neurodegenerative Diseases” took place at Fondazione Prada’s Cinema Godard in Milan on 16th and 17th October 2024. Under the scientific direction of Giancarlo Comi, the program was conceived in dialogue with the fifteen research institutes involved in the project. Each day was divided into four thematic sessions, each one featuring three lectures and an open discussion between the scientists and researchers. Each session addressed a specific topic, such as epidemiology, pollution, diet, sleep, protective factors, genes and other environmental factors, brain plasticity, and secondary prevention. The conference was addressed to researchers, students and representatives of medical and health institutions and health sector and was streamed live in English and Italian for all. The conference was part of ‘Preserving the Brain: A Call to Action’, the latest chapter of the “Human Brains” project that Fondazione Prada has been dedicating since 2018 to neuroscience and focuses on the prevention of neurodegenerative diseases.
