EMEA Attends PAM’s 19th Plenary Session in Rome

On February 20–21, 2025, EMEA Researchers Paula Pazos Puig and Daisy Vaughan Liñero attended the 19th Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM), held in Rome, Italy.
In line with PAM’s mandate, the session served as a unique platform for effective and enriching dialogue among member

Parliaments, addressing key issues affecting the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf regions. Discussions covered critical topics such as human trafficking, economic growth, climate change and desertification, geopolitical and security developments, and the threats posed by terrorism and organized crime. At the conclusion of the session, and following in-depth deliberations among PAM members, crucial resolutions on these matters were collectively adopted.

EMEA’s participation in the event is consistent with its ongoing efforts to evaluate and assess PAM’s performance over the past decade, as already done in 2016.

EMEA and PAM have maintained a collaborative relationship since the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2015. This fruitful partnership seeks to enhance cooperation in implementing their respective mandates through consultations, joint research, analytical studies, information exchanges, and other initiatives aimed at promoting economic integration, employment creation, and social development in the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf regions.
