Prof. Ayadi welcomed the participants and highlighted that “cultivating brain capital is akin to nurturing the earth’s natural resources. Both are invaluable assets, demanding careful investment and sustainable management. Just as we recognize the importance of preserving our natural environment for future generations, we must equally value and develop our cognitive and emotional resources. These assets, intangible yet imperative, drive innovation, economic growth, and societal well-being. In the stewardship of both, lies the key to a sustainable and prosperous future.”
The roundtable started with the presentation “The Interaction of Brain Capital and Natural Capital” by Elena Stotts-Lee, EMEA Research Assistant, and continued with presentations and discussion of the roundtable participants.
The primary aim of the event was to foster a deep, interdisciplinary conversation about the synergies and dynamics between brain health and skills (Brain Capital) and the world’s natural assets (Natural Capital) and valuation using different frameworks and methodologies.
