The Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association – EMEA, represented by its Founder and President, Prof. Rym Ayadi, and the BETA Technological Centre, under Universitat de Vic – Universitat Central de Catalunya, represented by its Director, Dr. Sergio Ponsá, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the purpose to enhance collaboration on the capitalisation and knowledge transfer of green technologies in the Mediterranean region to support innovative solutions to combating the effects of climate change.
The two institutions signed the MoU at the BETA Technological Center offices on the 20th November 2023. The visit included a tour of the center’s facilities and an explanation of their ongoing activities.
The BETA Technological Center, based in Vic, with the Universitat de Vic – Universitat Central de Catalunya, has the main mission to be a relevant actor for technological development, and thereby the improvement of the competitiveness and the quality of life of rural societies. The impulse for fulfilling this mission comes from both the execution of R&D&I projects and the transfer of knowledge from the private to the public sector. Through its Governance for Sustainability Unit, BETA Technological Center has become an active key-role player in the Mediterranean Basin in projects related to governance, capitalisation and knowledge circularity.
