EMEA researcher Dr. Yeganeh Forouheshfar participated in the UfM conference on ”Enhancing MSMEs resilience in face of future shocks” which took place from 5 to 7 of October 2022 in a hybrid format in Nicosia (Cyprus). The Conference was organised by the Union for the Mediterranean in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Cyprus and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
Dr. Forouheshfar intervened in the 3rd panel of the conference on “Scrutiny of the support measures and the recovery policies intended for MSMEs” and discussed the current macroeconomic challenges within the Mediterranean region hindering MSMEs’ access to finance. She argued counter-guarantee schemes could be an effective instrument to enhance financial inclusion of viable MSMEs.
