The President of EMEA, Prof. Rym Ayadi was one of the speakers on the webinar for the launch the first Progress Report on Regional Integration in the Euro-Mediterranean which was organised by the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), in partnership with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für International9e Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ) on 27 May 2021.
Prof Ayadi participated in session “How to unlock the full potential for greater regional economic Integration? Regional Experiences from across the Globe” highlighting that “A resilient multi-dimensional integration model in the Euro-Mediterranean region should be aligned with the Transparent, Responsible, Inclusive and Sustainable (TRIS) social-economic development model.”
EMEA developed the innovative “TRIS” concept for socio-economic development in the Mediterranean. This new concept can be enlarged in other regions of the world including Africa. Research, surveys and policy analysis are intended to inform policy actors about this new concept and how to implement in economic policies.
