EMEA launches a new research initiative on bio-economics. The aim of this research initiative is to promote nature- based solutions and mainstreaming economics, finance and policy. The aim is to develop new methodological approaches and applications to rethink economic value of biodiversity for planetary resilience and to mainstream this new thinking into policy that would improve the conservation and protection of natural ecosystems while making socio-economic and financial value more sustainable. The results of this research will advance the work under the TRIS Economic Model developed by EMEA over the past years.

“Our own well-being and the sustainability of our economic systems very much depend on the sustainability of our ecosystem.”
