EMEA Senior Researcher, Dr. Yeganeh Forouheshfar participates in the Natural & Human Capital Conference in Monaco

On November 27, Dr. Yeganeh Forouheshfar, Senior Researcher at EMEA, took part in the conference “Natural & Human Capital: An Integrated Approach to Sustainable Ecosystem Conservation” in Monaco. The event was organised by Centre Scientifique de Monaco and BNB Paribas, with the support of Monaco Economic Board & Monacotech.

Speaking in the third panel, “Beyond COP16 and COP29,” Dr. Forouheshfar reflected on the outcomes of these key climate conferences. While acknowledging the progress made, she highlighted that the agreements remain insufficient to meet the financial demands of the green transition.

Dr. Forouheshfar stressed the need for stronger collaboration among stakeholders—including the private sector and philanthropy—and advocated for mobilizing blended financial tools to bridge the funding gap. She also emphasized the vital link between brain capital and nature capital, underscoring that investing in nature is not just critical for ecosystem health but also for brain health and overall well-being, especially as populations age. “This is not an expenditure—it’s an investment in our shared future,” she concluded.
